In the camp

What they do

The projects they work through in the camp, one at a time.

1

A themed world

Terrain sculpted in Roblox Studio and a world built to a theme they choose, which is harder and better than building whatever comes to mind.

2

Their own models

Made rather than dragged in from the library, with materials and atmosphere tuned until the place feels like somewhere.

3

A hidden hideout with a secret switch

A door nobody finds by accident, welded together and opened by a hidden trigger.

4

A door that animates, in Lua

Real typed code: variables for the door and its target, a state that remembers open or closed, a loop that finds the prompt and a function that runs when a player uses it.

5

An NPC that walks a route

Waypoints in a folder, a loop that walks them, and a character that patrols the world they built.

The concepts behind it

What they are actually learning

The camp is the reason they turn up. These are the ideas they use to do it, shown the way they meet them, and they are the same ideas behind any programming language they pick up later.

Variables

local door = workspace.Doorlocal state = "closed"

Typed, not dragged. A name for something the script needs to find again, and a value it can change as the game runs.

Loops

while true domove the partfor each waypoint in folderNPC MoveTo waypoint

A while loop runs forever; a for loop runs once per thing in a list. The patrolling NPC needs both.

Conditionals

if state == "open" thenclose the doorelseopen the door

One prompt, two behaviors, decided by what the door is currently doing.

Functions and events

prompt.Triggered:Connect(run the door functionclose.Completed:Connect(set state to closed

Name a piece of behavior, then attach it to the moment it should run - a player interacting, or an animation finishing.

What they leave with

Create is our core coding program, where a ninja builds real games in JavaScript and works up through the belts. The first session is free, so they can try it before you decide.

Before you ask

Common questions

Do they write real code?

Yes. This camp types Lua in Roblox Studio, the same editor Roblox developers use, and spelling and capitalization matter - which is a useful shock for a ninja who has only used blocks.

Is it suitable if they have never coded?

Yes. The first day is building and terrain, and the code arrives on day two with every line explained as it is typed.

Does the world go online?

What they make is theirs in their own Roblox account. Publishing it is a decision for you, not something the camp does for them.

How is this different from Roblox Advanced Coding?

This one is a world you walk around, with enough Lua to make it behave. Advanced Coding is about the systems behind a game rather than the place it happens in.
