In this camp, ninjas will learn the essentials of video recording and editing, including tools like OBS and CapCut. They will also explore techniques such as adding transitions, using green screens, and incorporating sound effects and graphics into their videos.

OBS Studio set up from scratch, gameplay and voice captured, and commentary practiced before the real thing.

Cuts, sound, pacing. The edit is where most of the learning happens and where most of the week is spent.

Scripted from a planning sheet, filmed against the screen, and composited onto a backdrop they chose.
A piece built from licensed footage
Keyword searching done properly, with copyright covered first so they know why it matters.
A finished video with an audience in mind

Common questions
What software do they learn?
OBS Studio for recording and CapCut for editing. Both are free and both are what people actually use, so nothing has to be relearned at home.
Will my child be on camera?
For the news report, usually yes - but a ninja who would rather not be filmed can write, operate the camera and edit, and the finished piece is just as much theirs.
Is copyright really covered?
Yes, properly. What copyright is, what infringement does to a video, and how to search for footage you are allowed to use.
Do the videos get published?
Not by us. Putting anything online is your decision.
